Yingke lawyers were invited to participate and share in IPBA Arbitration Day Forum

On November 20, 2021, Ms. Yang Lin, Founding Partner, Global Partner and Executive Director of the Global Board of Directors of Yingke International, was invited to participate in the “IPBA Arbitration Day” forum organized by the Pacific Rim Bar Association (IPBA) and hosted by the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission, with the theme: New Opportunities for Arbitration Institutions under the Integrated Development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Mr. Xiong Xuanguo, Vice Minister of Justice, delivered a video message encouraging arbitration institutions to strengthen international exchange and cooperation and to participate in the building of a business environment under the rule of law. Ms. Yang Lin introduced a case of YK Law LLP’s successful recognition and enforcement of a domestic arbitration institution’s award: in August this year, a successful judgment in the U.S. Federal District Court of Massachusetts to recognize and enforce an arbitration award made by the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission last November 2020 based on the New York Convention and the U.S. Federal Arbitration Act. In September this year, during CIETAC’s China Arbitration Week series, Yingke, together with Hong Kong law firm Roxas & Partners and WK, held the first seminar in the Interpreting International Arbitration series, which focused on interim measures in international arbitration. Ms. Yang Lin also made her suggestions at the same time, firstly, domestic arbitration institutions can refer to world-renowned arbitration institutions and enhance their flexibility in the list of arbitrators; secondly, they should give full play to their geographical advantages and become the preferred arbitration institution for dispute resolution in the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau region.
